Goodbye Guest Room

Updated: Aug 4, 2020

I am NOT an interior designer - I haven't quite tapped into my own vision for a room ...yet.... However I am a master copycat! I am often able to recreate a room and can come pretty close to it; when I find something on Pinterest or Instagram that I like.... From full on copying, I often then find my own adaptations from there.. When I found this Guest room on Instagram by @prettypeachtree (now @farrenceleste) I WANTED it! I crept-ed and scored her page for the paint color, the sign she had, the bed linen (Which was far to expensive for me) everything I could find and I melded my own guest room as best I could from there.... Here is the original design by @farrenceleste - Stunning - Just Stunning! You can find her on Instagram here

We are currently packing away our guest room now for our newest arrival; Saoirse-Skye's nursery.... It's a bittersweet goodbye.... but I wanted to Share my Instacopy one more time in here .....

The first thing I wanted to find out was the color of paint she had used. Once I had scrolled through her comments, I learned that she had used Benjamin Moore's Wickham Grey, which I really loved. I bought it the next day haha! I then needed to find the "Be Our Guest" sign she had, and Once again I found that in her comments:

The bed I ordered on Wayfair - I have since seen a lot of these beds on Amazon, Target & Overstock. I had a really hard time finding Bedside tables that I liked so when I saw these for FREE on Facebook Marketplace - I scooped them up and upcycled them with some Annie Sloan Chalk paint and new handles from Amazon.

I then found a white wicker basket to place underneath...

The tray I found in Kohls, The white teapot was from Amazon again and the tea cups actually belonged to Chris' Grandma, so it was nice to have a touch of her in the room.

My one original idea in here was my mini coffee bar. I really loved this addition. A lot of our guests come over from the UK and tend to stay for extended periods of time. I really wanted to make the space comfortable and private with an almost bed and breakfast feel so brought in a single serve Keurig so they could make their own tea and coffee each day.

The mini Gallery were just a collection of prints that I picked up from the Christmas Tree Shoppe and the books were fiction and non fiction stories that we have finished, for our guests to enjoy while they vacation with us.

Just a peaceful, serene space. Chris and I loved this room so much sometimes we would just sleep in there to feel like "we were on our holidays" LOL! I am sad to lose it but on the flip side excited to start turning it into Saoirse-Skye's nursery! Stay Tuned for My #PINTERESTCOPY for that! https://projectnursery.com/2018/09/rose-wall-decor-pink-gray-nursery/

I cant wait to get started on that!!! <3 Georgia
